Evaluation of Autonomous Trucking

1 Scope

1.1 This Standard will cover the safety principles and processes for evaluation of autonomous trucks primarily intended for freight on public roads, and specifically their ability to perform the intended function without human intervention based on their current state and sensing of the operating environment.

1.2 The standard also covers the reliability of hardware and software necessary for machine learning, sensing of the operating environment, and other safety aspects of autonomy.
